It seems as though you're correct (can't be sure) in thinking that OVF mode is not connected to the lens, but rather is a bit rangefinder-ish in that it overlays a crop box to show you your framing.

The OVF is not through-the-lens. It does not provide rangefinder-style focusing either.

That would be the starting price. In one year it will be below 1K.

in one year...they might not be selling any more ;)

I forsee one with a 50mm 1.4-1.8(FF equiv) to go along with this if it actually sells.

At first glance... I thought this would be my dream camera, but it sounds like there will be no interchangeable lenses. This makes me real sad and unfortunately like some, this is a deal breaker for me. :(

Nonetheless, this is still really exciting news and hopefully other manufacturers will follow.

They will come out with an interchangeable version in the future - Just make sense. For now X100 still a great deal and a must have.

I hope this camera will be a big hit, I love the design :) I can't imagine using a camera without a viewfinder and it uses my favourite focal length, even the image samples looks nice so far. It's very likely that I will have this camera in my hands in not too distant future...

Unfortunately they didn't specify what settings they used for that test. But it looks pretty promising, alright.
