You do not find shady merchants on the West Coast, I do not know why New Yourk, PA, etc. are infested with scam. Could be the government oversight is different.
Go ahead with your purchase. They are very reputable store.

I know, isn't that weird??? Agree 100%. Just different cultures out on the west.

It may be different laws, or different taxes...

Looking to buy a 70-200mm F2.8 from Cameta Camera. Have any of you purchased from them. They have the lowest price atm and what seems to be a nice return policy should i have any issues. I usually go B&H or Amazon, but looks like the price increase has already hit them.

Fill me in. Thanks.

Just curious what their price is on it right now?

Well they change daily, but a few places are around the $1,260 mark. The others keep climbing over 1300. PC nation looks to be $10 more, but they toss in free overnight. Might go that route.

Got a lens from them through eBay. OK. But, I'll not go back there.

Care to explain?

That's what I'm wondering. It's basically a trash-talk without a reason?

I've had great results dealing with them, some of the little packages they put together are very nice. Most of the shipping rates were free and you can't beat that.

Cameta is a reputable dealer.
I dont pay any attention to reseller ratings as if you actually take the time to read through all the posts its obvious that the shady stores go on under an alias and rate themselves with simple one liners. I was looking for a copy of LR3 and saw a store that had 4 stars with an unbelieveable price with like 200 reviews. Well 30 or so were all horror stories with 1 star talking about how someone ordered sofware and what they got was an old opened copy of the previous version and an upgrade copy when they bought a full retail version then the old copy couldnt be registered to get the upgrade to work. The stores response was that the full retail was on back order and they were doing the buyer a favor. Then all the rest were one liners with 5 stars. Yeah right! I finally weeded though their website and found a physical address. The front page showed a beautiful glass building, google maps showed "The UPS store" in a strip mall. Bottom line is if the price looks too good to be true its a scam.
