Do you register with the BBB?

The BBB contacted me today asking me to register saying I have customers requesting information.
I have never registered with them before. They want $395 for the registration.
Do you guys register with them?

If you pay they list you in good standing. If you don't they give you a B or a C to make you look questionable. The BBB is a private organization with little to no government.
The BBB provides no useful service to consumers other than seeing some random, made-up grade.

If you don't register, and if they have no reports, they give you a "No Rating", not "a B or a C to make you look questionable". They'd get their butts sued off if they tried to pull that.

IMO, the BBB has no value to either businesses or customers. I wouldn't give them a penny.

Better Business Bureau.
Organization that rates businesses on number of complaints received and how well they resolve complaints.

They have tried to contact me several time as well. I first contacted them, not know it was so costly to sign up.
I decided not to sign up, doesn't really seem to be much benefit to me.

I think you would get more benefit from customer reviews in something like Yelp.com or Angies list than you would from the BBB.

All the BBC accredited ones I saw had A's and the ones that did not had lower grades, hm.
