Why the Lee Filter Backlog

So I placed an order in August 2010 via 2filters.com for:
- Bigstopper
- 77mm standard adapter ring
- 77mm wide angle adpater ring
- digital starter kit.

A couple months I received the big stopper. However still no filter holder nor an adapter ring. Its not a 2filters.com thing, because B&H hasn't had the items in stock in a long time.

Anyone know why Lee can't fulfill the backlog? I know they are in high demand but seriously how many 77mm adapter rings do they make a month? My guess its 3 based on how long these items are on backorder.

I feel your pain. Let me know when the organized revolt at the gates of the Lee factory is scheduled.....I say we don't let em go home until all orders are fulfilled.:)

Here is the polished answer direct from Lee's marketing department:

I got an email from B&H this morning about the lee foundation filter holder for the 4x6 filters. I have been waiting for one of these for a couple months now so I whipped out the plastic and shoved one in my cart and ordered. I just checked again to give you the direct link and they are not available again so this kind of makes me wonder if I actually did get one.

I must have struck lucky as I got my big stopper, holder and 77mm adapter next day when I ordered it from Dale Photographic here in UK

Very happy with it. Beautifully built, well packaged, and top notch quality

Unique photo has them in 'stock' as in I've seen several in the display case with prices on them.

I have been waiting the same as you and also picked one up quickly. According to my shipment recite from B&H it is coming.

I was on the B&H wait list and got an email sometime this week. I was able to get my stuff in the UK.

Another good post about the reason for the delay was posted in another thread
