Interesting... registration doesn't start till Wednesday, and from my paperwork, the rigs gets in on Wednesday as well.

Maybe I'll have to stick my head in the tracks to take a look.

Any idea how to get the best access for photos? like a photo or press pass?

I am getting a pit pass and was told you can get access to all the garages but I am assuming this is different from a hot pit pass that gets you access to the active pits during the race? if there is such a thing?

Great pictures, my favorite is number 4 but like Chippy, I think it would be improved by cropping out the top set of white lights, just makes it feel faster/slicker. Good job.

skeeter_e60, Jessica, djre4orm, and Aaagogo,

Thank you for commenting. I appreciate it.

djre4orm,

All of my shots were taken from the spectator side of the fence. If you have a way of getting media credentials I would of course go for it. The garage pass will get you into the garage and trailer area only. You should be able to get to the back fence of the pits but not on to pit road.

If you are there after dark, you may have the opportunity to catch cars that are taken into the garage for work. Those can be great shots.

Most of my on track shots were taken in the infield section of the track. Since I was at the practice sessions, I was not able to get into the grandstands on the outside of the track. I think there are opportinities for great sunrise and sunset shots up in the stands.

I wish I was attending the race itself. Have a great time.

Chris

Sweet! Thanks a lot for the detailed info. I don't have media access but would be awesome, just regular spectator stuff. On the road now, 5hr delay due to snow :$

Great shots! I have a friend that knows one of the drivers/crew members for the #56 Ferrari in picture 4. Any more by chance? Any chance to pass that fullsize along?
