 looks like mother nature is making up for last year. Hey what happened to your 5D2? Were you able to get it fixed by Canon?

Oh yeah, it's been fixed. Here is what they did.

"Your product has been examined and it was found that the internal component did not operate properly causing error 30 to be displayed. The (shutter ass'y, main/front board, focus screen) was replaced and product functions are confirmed. Other electrical adjustments, inspection and cleaning (image sensor, screen, mirror, and VF), mechanical adjustments were carried out."

I couldn't live without my main go-to camera. :D Thanks for asking.

Lensmen - I do like that Sunset one a lot...! Unlike some P&S pix - that image actually has "depth" - the cloud actually looks 'real' - not over-enhanced in processing, and the two-thirds / one-third balance is nice. The "break" between those is "impacting without being distracting" - not easy to do....

The boats - almost but not quite in full silhouette, just enough detail remaining to "be there", but not "distract" - is what seems to make the break non-impactive. Enough to pull the eyes in and give depth - but not "too much".

That balance is very pleasing, and the "glow-track" on the water hasn't been over-enhanced - looks very natural.

The whole thing "works together" - very nicely done....

Dave.

Many thanks for the kind words Dave.

My friends never fails to be amazed with this little PnS. And a few accused me of PSing my way around. "Sorry, I duno how to use PS" is my standard reply. Plus, SOOC is the fastest way to get a pix online to share too....

Just to share : it is handheld in P mode, AWB, ISO 80, "Positive film" effect. To make the sun into a globe, i had EV -1 (with brackets from -1/2 to -1 1/2 to check).
