The only issue I've had with Sigma was turnaround time. The lenses themselves (and I own 3 Sigmas plus 2 sigma TC's) have been excellent with no problems whatsoever.

OK, as I stated earlier in this thread, I was annoyed that the replacement lens I received from Sigma looked a bit soft like the origional one I had sent back. The shots I took to test it at that time were on a tripod with shutter release in a VERY slow moving stream. I didnt think the stream would have any adverse effect on my IQ, as it was flowing so slowly but it obviously did.
When I tested it a few weeks later I was AMAZED at the sharpness of my pics. I have had my faith in Sigma totally restored. As I read just now from someone ( cant remember who sorry ) all manufacturers have issues, my Canon was with them for 9 weeks for a check and callibration :(
Anyway I thought I had better post to redress the balance as people seem to be getting a bit jittery without any need !! I will probably be getting another Sigma lens later this year.....

Does calibration for a 30mm involve sending in the body too?

I've sent my 30mm Sigma on Weds, they had it on Thurs, shipped it back Friday and I got my lens back on Monday. :)

I hope they do that with my 70-200 2.8.

I overnighted it to them because of the holiday and need it repaired

I sent an email to the "info" address and got a response that they would be glad to take a look at my 50mm for an AF problem. Service request, along with warranty card, and proof of purchase is what I was told, for a warranty request.

I also asked about my 24-70 which would be an estimate for service, and they said just the service request and lens for a free estimate. The tech I spoke with said they ship it back at no cost even if I opt out on the repair...
