I had the 1D4 for a week (Canon CPS loaner) and tried my hand at shooting Snow Geese and Tundra Swans in flight. What's funny is even though I was well below and away from them, as they took flight they would have a b-line toward me and then, as if they thought I was a thread, they'd avoid me. These are all handhold.

1D4, 500 + 1.4x.

Excellent shots Al. They are quite interesting in flight as I've only seen them in the water.

Beautiful birds and images! Started our trip to Texas on the 29th and sw of Memphis, came upon a sky filled w/ snow geese. They really did stretch from horizon to horizon-how many thousand, I have no idea. Heading north so youfolks on that flyway, here they come!
