So - can anyone other than Canon update the camera software? It would seem to be a good idea to add a Hi-2 ISO rating of 6400 to the 5D, since it seems it's usable.

This is just one of my test images, sorry about bad composing and lights..(got my 5D two days ago)
ISO1600, 125mm (70-200 2.8L), f/4.0, 1/50s

I love this shot! What kind of post (if any) did you do here? It reminds me of the series called "snow bride" that Phamster has done in some other threads.

You CAN shoot paintball with a 5D, however, I would suggest getting a 1D series, 7D, or xxD series to handle the fast paced action.

If I were going out to shoot PB, I would grab my 40D without hesitation.

Anything with software can be hacked. I know there are 3rd party firmwares for the digital rebels, but none that I know of for the 5D.

Is there any reason why? Just wondering what the limitations of the 5D are.

Is it FPS or auto focus?

FPS mostly. AF should be OK but the 1d would definitely be a nice and faster AF boost.

Both are not the best for sport.
