Canon 7D + Sigma 85. Test shots at Juneau boat harbor. Both at f/1/4.

I feel great anxiety about buying the lens. I know it is a great lens. I just feel ambivalent about it.

Yup, I hate it honestly  but I've built a 240sx with an SR, a EJ25 swapped bugeye WRX and a 350Z and wanted to get into photography and couldn't afford both so I ditched nice cars for something stable. In comes the TL..

Good thing lenses depreciate a lot slower/less than cars do over time. ;)

Nothin' wrong w/ a TL. It's got a decent engine, nice ride, and good amenities.

That is absolutely true. I have to admit that it's nice not worrying about being pulled over or every idiot with a civic trying to race me. BUT... and that's a big but, there's nothing like taking a 400awhp scooby sideways at 40+mph through the snow in total control and hearing that boxer engine growl.

We'll see as my lens collection is perfect now for what I shoot and my lighting gear and computer build are paid off and on it's way so it's between selling the TL and picking up another WRX or selling the TL, picking up a nice AWD/4WD SUV like an MDX and buying a bike. Decisions... decisions..

Yeah. My car days are over. (wife, kid, life takes over). Short of something miraculous happening (like winning the lotto), it just doesn't make sense for *me* to get into cars. Better to tuck away some of that money for retirement, or buy a home in a better place, college tuition, vacations to actually go take pictures and enjoy life, than to sit in my car in the parking lot known as Los Angeles. ;) Doesn't mean I wouldn't like a Ferrari (when all the ducks are lined up, and there are a lot of ducks to line up).

But 4WD is actually quite useful in your neck of the woods so I can see how the FWD TL can be somewhat of a drag during the season.

Nothing wrong with the TL;), been driving a 00TL for about 7 years and its at 140k miles - No major problems. However a few months ago somebody saw'ed my rear lip kit off - cost me over $650 to replace it  - That's NYC for you...

- Back on topic...how many years of warranty does Sigma give you for this lens?

Great shots Kim! It was drizzling here and told my buddy that I needed a quick shot of the day for my 365. I found out testing earlier that +10MA is spot on. I slapped on the 5dii and took 2 shots. Both came out perfect. The CA is clearly obvious now but nothing I can't quickly correct in post.

Really great capture: -)
