Heres the thing, I ruined 2 print heads on a canon s630 printer using 3rd party inks, did a little research and found others that had the same issue, but those that ran the oem's hadnt had a problem in over 3 years, mine went bad in a year each...tried saving on ink and wound up spending almost $100 on the print heads each time...kept doing it because the printer put out wonderful images. Second time was enough though..
I also have the pro9000 mkII and will only be buying oem this time around..B&H is the cheapest I have found online..
I say use 3rd party at your own risk..

When it ceases to be fun, it will be time to walk away

I prefer to use Canon ink with my printer and I find B&H prices hard to beat.
Example: A four pack of Canon CLI-221 Ink Tanks is 37.95 and quite often they have free shipping. Compared to Staples at about 19 bucks a cartridge, that's a bargain.

Yes B&H seems to have good prices on the 8 pack inks however if i can get away with the refills it will save alot more money. I will try them out, hope they work, if not i will have to either buy from B&H or just not even print from home ( it gets expensive). I only have 4 inks that are in need of refill, the rest are pretty much full.

I'm not a refill guy, have heard too many horror stories about problems developing from their use. I figure if I can afford to buy a quality Canon printer, I can afford to buy their ink.

I have been using Hobbycolor ink in my Pro9000 printer for about total 4+ refills since summer 2009. No printer head issues so far. Granted, I haven't done any full-bleed large prints despite that being the reason that I bought it for :P

So many CIS alternatives on ebay and elsewhere. My advice is to avoid them like the plague. Despite promises of being compatible with the original ink or not clogging your printheads if you immediately run some printhead cleanings... guess what happens.

I've had nothing but had experiences with replacement inks in printers. Printheads are expensive. Sometimes it's just best to bite the bullet and pick up cheap original cartridges on ebay.

I got both packages today. Im excited to work on them tonight, Anyone that has done the re-fill can you please chime in your experience, maybe a step by step based on your observations? i will refer to the video but id like to hear from you guys. The instructions say to drill a hole 1/8", but i think thats too big, why so large? the needle is very thin, im thinking maybe heat up a needle or sharp tip and just creat a hole that way. Since drilling might cause the plastic shavings to fall into the ink. Thanks again.

As you can see in this image he is refilling from the bottom, but in the instructions that came with the ink it says to refill from the top ( i would think the top would be better, right?), Any help would be appreciated.

I just picked up a 9000 Pro and a set of Canon ink /paper, but I would really like to use a cheaper ink as this stuff is insanely expensive over time.

I really doubt any non-OEM would match the quality of OEM though, I have tried CIS on my Epson 1800 with really bad results.
