^ Beautiful Kevin!
Do you mind sharing what processing you did to this picture? Looks like a layer with color but it has me stumped.

My 5D II is off back to the supplier soon for a full refund (bought at Amazon.de - they had no issues with the refund) ... the fault is mainly the menu button which keeps basically konking out on me (thought I had it sussed but seems not - died on me for 2 days then for no reason decided to start working again just as I was packaging it up to send off). The memory card flap also fits badly and creaks when I hold the camera, and now the sensor cleaning mechanism has started making a rather perturbing squeaking sound when it is activated.
Sadly no replacement from them (no expected stock for up to 3 months:confused:), so I have ordered one from elsewhere and it should be here on Thursday.

Anyway, I have a question - has anyone got any examples of photos from a 5D II being used on billboards, or can someone comment on the quality of enlargements of this size??

Reason: I have just been asked to do a studio/portrait shoot, the end result of which is going to be blown up and slapped on a billboard for an advertising campaign ... I am just a touch nervous about the size, having never done anything this big before (literally), but obviously the prospect of getting it right and this kind of exposure (should I accept) is fantastic.

Appreciate any info anyone can pitch ... ;)

I don't know about the 5D II, but I'm sure it's more than capable of producing stunning billboard-sized prints. somewhere on this forum, I read where a couple of photogs commented that they've used their 20Ds to produce billboard advertisements, so you figure 8MP versus 21MP, should yield excellent results.

sorry about your 5D II, hopefully the next one will be perfect :-)

Cheers Philip ... I was fairly confident that 21Mp would be fine, but there was still that nagging voice in the back of my head saying ... "You sure about that mate? I mean that's like 40ft wide or something which is proper BIG!!!" :D

I too am hoping for better luck with the replacement 5D II ... and it has to be said, I do adore this camera, the thought of using a 50D for portraits or low light work actually instils fear in me now ;)

You might want to play with something like OnOne's Perfect Resize, which will get you some extra resolution if you're worried.

question for you 5D2 owners. Has anyone had to deal with slight water intrusion with this camera? If so, how did the younger, more able bodied 5D handle it?

So my bottom right focus point is hunting HARD and rarely locks on which is worrying me a bit. I might have to send it in.. I also think there's something wrong with my FEC because there's no change from +2 to -2 or anywhere in between shots. I'll try to take sample pics tonight but it was working around 3 weeks ago and now it's not..
