Tempted to buy this lens again. Do you guys think it's too close to the 100L?

I have all three and they are all very different lenses. Yes they do over lap a bit in use but they all have very distinct visual personalities

I chose the 135L over the 100L because I preferred the focal length and the faster aperture. I had also sold my 100 Macro (non-L) to fund this lens purchase.

ZERO regrets :D

I had the 85L II but the MFD was not to my liking and it was rather inconsistent in focusing. When it nail oh boy it nails. Most of my favourite images still came from the 85 and now from the 50L.

Back to the 135L, I had it in the past which I now regretted selling due the focal length ( I was not full framed then). With extension tubes can I get near macro uses with it? A 1:2 would be good enough for me I think.

I use extension tubes on mine and I'm not sure of the magnification ratio but it definitely lets you get extremely close to a subject!

You can definitely get to 1:2 with tubes. IIRC, 60mm of tubes gets you to 1:1.5.
