I'm looking for a monitor. Mainly browsing and photo editing.
Most of my editing is via lightroom such as adjust brightness & crops. Doesn't do much color adjustments.

I saw a deal on the Dell for $449.00
I found the HP at Amazon for $410.22

I've heard tint & dithering issue on the Dell.
Does the HP have any major issue?

Which one would you get if you were me.

That's a great price on the Dell. I'd jump on it.

The U2410 is a wide gamut display with a 12bit internal LUT. HP is 8bit and normal gamut.

I know the Dell looks very good on paper but people had been complaining...
I'm not sure if it's still a problem.

I'm not sure if there ever was a problem, but there's only one way to find out.

What are your options? Buy a lower performing monitor for the same money? Buy a smaller, lower performing monitor for half the price? Buy a pro quality monitor for twice the price?

I may be able to get a used Dell UltraSharp 2707WFP 27-inch Wide-Screen for $400.
It's almost 3 years old. I do worry about it's toward the end of it's life.
Is this a good deal?

With LCDs... nope. And it's not even an IPS paneled display.

I was told it's an IPS display. I can't find any panel info in that linked document.
What panel is it?

If you can get that monitor for less than $200, it would be a fair deal. If the sellers are local, don't be afraid of insulting them with a low-ball cash offer.

My Dell 2001fp which is an IPS panel monitor I paid $600 for stopped working properly just about a month after the three year warantee expired. Now only 1/2 to 3/4 of the screen is working.

I did put a lot of use on it in that time, maybe 10 hours/day or more.

I've had the Dell U2410 for about 3 weeks now and can't say I can find anything wrong with it. I'm running this along with a Samsung SynchMaster 2243 and a Wacom Cintiq. The Dell is so much better than the Samsung, imo.

My life is like one big RAW file....way too much post processing needed.

LCD backlights start dying from day one. 3 years of constant use is a good lifetime for your monitor. Now is a good opportunity to step up to the next level, like an NEC PA241.
