I've been seriously getting into kayaking lately, and while I've picked up one of the waterproof units for use when I'm actually on the water; some of the areas we're traveling to have some great scenery, and I'd like to be able to take the DSLR along as well for some more creative work.
I could put the cam in a dry bag, the ones I have are plenty good enough for that. However, I also need something fairly rigid to handle the bumps and bangs of typical trips, and it would need to be fairly compact, and not weigh more than the boat itself.
The capacity I am thinking would be a rebel body, 15-85 lens and a flash.
so the basic question - anyone ever go through similar concerns? where would a good place to start looking? at work we have ultra rugged water resistant cases for the electronics which are plenty large, but they weigh a ton. I've got several small pelican cases which are waterproof that I use for various camping/kayaking gear, but they're way too small for the cam.
