:cool:This is just a general opinion Post.

In the last 12 months, what would you say is the two most popular Canon Body's, from a sales standpoint? I have e-maild Canon and should be getting a reply soon. Thought it would be fun to see how close we get to Canons actual statistics.
Canon has said that they will run the numbers and get back to me. I am curious which DSLR model is their top seller.bw!

As soon as I hear back from Canon, I will post what they tell me.

I'd say T2i and 60D as well.

Im thinking th t1i and t2i also, they have the most presence in non-camera related stores, and they are the most accessible to a large group.

If I were going off of what I'm seeing at local retailers, my guess is the T2i and XS, probably in that order.

T2i is bang-for-your-buck and still widely available, XS is the big-box retailer's "hey, do you want a fancy-schmancy D, S, L, R camera and only have $500?" camera.

The only big-box retailer I've seen with 60Ds and 7Ds in stock is Best Buy, and around my neck of the woods, they only carry kits and not body-only. But everybody (Target, Office Depot, Staples, etc) has the Rebels.

T1i I don't actually see too much of in the big-box stores around my town, but that could just be me.

If you haven't see this, here are the results (from BCN) in Japan for 2010. Here's the rough Google translation:

2010 digital camera with interchangeable lenses (digital SLR) market, "BCN Ranking" remained strong double-digit growth in both sales value in the previous year. In addition, Panasonic and Olympus, Sony's "a mirror-less eyes, " was also the year gained citizenship. This year, the model was what was popular. Sun, January 01 -12 10 - selling out another series Let the total of 22 daily data. The difference between the lenses and accessories such as color variations are tabulated based on aggregate models.

There's a pretty data table on their website: http://bcnranking.jp/news/1012/101228_18981.html (external link)

But in reference to your question, the top Canon cameras were (in their list of top 20 dSLRs):

#1 EOS Kiss X4 (T2i) 13.6% market share
#3 EOS Kiss X3 (T1i) 9.2%
#10 EOS 7D 3.1%
#13 EOS 60D 1.7%
#14 EOS 5D Mark II 1.6%
#16 EOS Kiss X2 (XSi) 1.5%
#17 EOS 50D 1.4%

Thats interesting to say the least. I will post what Canon e-mails me, and we can see if there are many differences.

Look at Flickr...it ranks how many pictures were posted by each body...I would think this is a fairly good indication of which cameras have strong sales (not exact, but close enough for us).

Interesting--1 Series users are practically nonexistent

Makes sense...how often do you see anyone shooting with a 1D vs. a xxD or xxxD. I buy and sell quite a bit of stuff, and I've only sold to ONE guy who had a 1D, the rest have Rebels and 30D/40D kind of cameras. Same with when I'm out and about...I see a lot of people with Canon DSLRs, but can't remember the last time I randomly saw someone shooting with a 1D.
