Well I suppose this is the best place to ask for opinions on which camera club to join too. I looked at the Melbourne camera club with its $140 fee, and the itinerary didn't seem too spectacular. I'm interested in meting some people around my own age (30) but this isn't the be all and end all of it. Any suggestions for good and friendly clubs (active social element preferred but not essential?) that go for photo walks or have interesting events / discussions? Somewhere within about 15k of the centre I guess. Cheers for any help.

The photography club I'm part of costs like $15 to join. The majority of members tend to be university students in 20's, but there are members in your demographic too. Plus 30 is just late 20's

Anyone interested in going to the Melbourne Zoo on Tuesday morning'ish? March 1st.

Also, anyone going to the Avalon Airshow this year? I'll be there on Sunday and would be cool to see some others there as well!

Hi guys the photography club I'm part of (University of Melbourne Photo Club) is running another FREE workshop next week

We ran a similar one last year and a lot of people from this forum ended up going. Maybe they can chime in on how good or bad it was. Our biggest negative feedback last year was that the room was terrible and hot - so this year we have booked the University's newest state of the art lecture theatre (which itself is a treat for photography with unique architecture)

This is a free event as the aim of the club is community engagement

Details:
Saturday 12th March 2011
Time: 10:15am - 1:45pm (morning lecture component). Afternoon practical component will occur after lunch but will not be as formal as morning lecture.

Please note you can signup to be a member on the day, but it is NOT required to attend the workshop as it is FREE of charge.

I'm good behind the lens too! lol.. Melbourne Zoo.. Werribee.. street.. bird photography somewhere? I don't have a car and live in the CBD and am down sometime hopefully. If anyone wants to go out taking some pics let me know. I can bring out the 500L if anyone wants to play. I'd like to play with some different lenses too!

Is there any bird sanctuary's around Melbourne anywhere? I live right in the CBD and would love to get out and take some photo's of different birds. I don't have a car, so would anyone like to go out and find some birds to shoot? Cheers! Birding photomeet?
