With black and white, it's all about contrast... so if you want a white car to really stand out, shoot it in front of something dark. I guess you are right... what troubled me was that it was late and the background was getting too dark. I was convinced that I needed more tones of gray and sunny areas in order to place the car in the environment and not just capture it as the single element of the photograph. gallery

Speaking of lighting on the car, do you think that I should also use the CPL filter to remove the reflections on the windows? As far as cropping is concerned there is a guy on my shoulder who keeps pinching me to abide to the rules of thirds. I even have forgotten how to place my subject in the centre. Also I loved the shape of the road and couldn't resist including the whole turn. The need for post processing is something that I am trying to eliminate lately. Being a graphics artist pp is one of my tools of the trade but when it comes to photography I promised myself to do my best prior or even during capture time. Next thing is to lower my clicks and then maybe I will start processing again a little (the basics, not altering the whole thing). I don't know why, but I really like those things. I learned to drive on the crappy American version of that thing: the non-turbo Le Car as it's known over here. I must admit that the whiteness of the white troubles me a lot. And it gets more difficult if you want reflections on it. At direct sunlight its impossible (for me) to achieve a balanced (in terms of luminosity/esposure) photograph. I also tried some HDR captures to experiment. This specific car has occasionaly made it very hard to expose it correctly without burning the rest of the scene and vice versa. And the colour of the car is not exactly white... it is milky white, beige-white or something. I will upload a close up of a wing and wheel (which is white) to see the difference. gallery
