Great series, Yunan is an area I'd like to get to some day. A real cross roads between China and Southeast Asia. I love the backpacks they're using in a couple of photos, images give a real feel for context as well as the subjects - one and two are favorites. thanks for sharing!

Great set - I like #1, 2 and 4. The guy's expression in #4 is really like he's seeing a camera for the first time.

It's all in the details.

I just noticed all the blue "shirts"... do you know the deal is behind those... some sort of traditional garb or like in Thailand where they all wear yellow shirts in honour of the King?

Holdover from the Cultural Revolution. There was a time in China when everyone had to wear the same clothes.

I love Yunnan. Some of my best pictures from China were taken there. Nice set!
