I'm Curious...What are you shooting with AF expansion on and getting amazing results?

Birds mainly, like these:

Hi, If I thought for a minute I could get pictures like the birds Chris just posted I'd order a 7D right now,but I'm betting it's more Chris than 7D. I am jealous too, but I have promised myself no more large purchases until I learn how to use my 40D which is beginning to look like something this old man isn't going to make happen. Have fun-Mike:)

I'm actually quite happy with the 40D. There are times when I wish the ISO performance were a tad better (like indoor basketball, for example) and I wouldn't mind having a crisper LCD screen... but otherwise I'm pretty happy. I'd take a 7D as a gift in a minute, though! :)

Now that's impressive !!! Well done. I actually went from a 1DsII to my 7D and am quite happy with the switch. These shots should piss off a few naysayers who claim IQ isn't hell on a 7D. If I could ask, what lense did you use on these bird shots?

Eagle
F8 1/1600 ISO400 with a 400 5.6 about an hour before sunset
Crane
F5.6 1/1000 ISO 320 with the same 400 5.6 about an hour after sunrise

I don't want to hijack Brian's thread, but I'm certainly happy to show him that he made a great purchase.

And here's a good link to the settings I use for my camera:

Of course, the only reason I know this is because of this great forum.

Last year we were enough to get to go to South Africa on a business trip. We had 40Ds and decided we needed second body. We bite the bullet and ordered 7Ds. OMG we were so glad we did!!! The AF, high ISO handling, and 8fps came in so handy for shooting wildlife.

Wishing you much happy shooting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D:D:D:D:D
