I finally had a chance to play with this lens. My neighbor had a baby recently and asked for me to snap a few some shots for their fam. This lens was really long for their living room but wow, I love it.

This thread has helped me make up my mind. This should fill the gap in my quiver nicely, for now.

Damn near perfect lens, as you all know.
I was shocked at just how perfect my copy is!

This is my first lens I didn't have to do any MA adjustment to at all !!
Not even a + or - 1! Perfect out of box! Spot on!:grin:

First time using the 135L outside (darn Winter, go away!)

These are from my 100 Strangers Projects. All are wide open (f2.0) except the last, where I stopped down to f2.5.

I now have a new head and shoulders lens, sorry 85L. :)

great shots OP. I wonder how many 135L owners also own 70-200 f/2.8's. Do most of you guys shoot wide open all the time, or do you find yourself stopping down a lot?

The only one cropped is the last one, and I took off a little extra from the top which was just dead space.

Cut it out! You're shaking my determination to jump to N****n when the D700 successor finally comes out.

All are wide open (f2.0) except the last, where I stopped down to f2.5.

I'm curious - did you stop down slightly on just that shot for a specific reason, or just to compare results? My sense of the aperture needed at a given framing/focal length for adequate subject DoF is weak :-/
