I finally took the leap to HDR. Here is my first try at it. Original & HDR but held back on the skylight because it got real dirty in HDR. The HDR was done with Photomatix Grunge 5 exposures default settings.

I like the HDR. It obviously improved the image. It looks a tad like HDR, but not overly so. IMO if you can do HDR and not make it look so you've got a winner. I think I would pull the Strength slider back about 30-40 spots. It will remove the 'dirty' spots that the Grunge setting adds to images. 1Ds Mk II, 1D Mk II, 50D, 40D, XT (for my son), 17-40L, 24-105L, Bigma 50-500 EX DG, Sigma 150 Macro EX DG, Tokina 12-24 AT-X, Nifty Fifty, Tamron 28-300 (for my son), 580ex II, 430ex II

Not sure I would have used the Grunge setting for this "clean" scene...and yes, it wants to add black smudges where there may not be any. Personally, this is one thing I don't like about HDRIs and it is very common at any setting esp. in clouds. Any chance of reprocessing using another pre-set...more natural ? If you crop to the green area, it looks very cool and quite abstract. Will try another setting and yes cropping the green does look better. I'll probably go for a reshoot and a wider lens next time. emelvee wrote in post #11874382 ![]() That looks great!! Thanks. Will see what I can do in a reprocess. titanium21 wrote in post #11873372 ![]() I like what you have done with the HDR it jumps out at me. Where was this picture taken? Yes I was surprised about the enhanced texture. I really didn't notice the textures in the wall when I took the shot. I agree it needs a little toning back though. -- Image Editing OK --

I'd also suggest either cropping out the green portion (I don't think it adds anything to the image...just detracts attention away from the architecture), or re-shoot the image with the green area out of the frame.
