Did some valentine photoshoots this weekend. Was very cold ...4 degree Celsius.

One of the results, straight out of the cam.

300ws flash with Elinchrom 60x60cm softbox + 1 x Nikon SB-28 from the rear

Here's one of the famous Peter back lighting shots. I actually got the girl next door to pose for me instead of having to do a self portrait like last time. :-)

A lot I could have done to make it better but I seem to have a tendency to remember those things after the shoot is done. Maybe one of these days I'll get it right.

This is my first go with studio light, one Alien Bee B800 with Beauty Dish with sock and some speelights here and there. Also used a white/silver reflector. Got my friends to model for me and took some test shots. It was definitely a fun learning experience. C&C is appreciated. The rest of the pics of this set can be found in my Flickr.

Well, what you got right this time was asking the young lady next door to model for you. And you should keep asking her, judging by this, so you can continue to improve your skill. Keep posting the results for the rest of us to see and critique.

I have to move and get different friends, I think. Mine all look like the guy in the Mr. February calendar shoot.

@Mario. Those shots look great especially for your first go at it. Nice job and I look forward to seeing more of you work.

lol, thanks guys. It helps to live really close to a university campus. BTW, she's in law school at Notre Dame. You'll probably see more of her in the future as we are planning more shoots. :)

I like #2 and 7 the best! Very nice color and fade. His black hair got lost a little in the first one on my monitor though.

Actually good thing you pointed that out. That was the only shot where I forgot to turn on the speedlights for the background and rim light so technically it's a single strobe setup lol. But thank you for your input :)
