You've got a great eye for a good scene. Amazing variety. Nice work there. My only suggestion is that maybe the clouds could use a little work in #1 up the contrast a bit.

I tried to fix the clouds but it came out looking too funky

You do have a good eye. Just watch your exposure.
3. A couple of the clouds in the middle top part of the frame is a little bright.
5. the sun is blinding.

#2 is brilliant IMO. I saved it as a reference.

I would have to agree that you're new to digital but not to "Photography"!
Picture #2 wouldn't be the same! B&W is so much more for the face of the seasoned!

Will done! Welcome to Digital!

I made this move about 6 years ago from 35mm. I have 2 bodies now: one being a 7D as well. Get to know it and its focusing traits. If used in proper designation as intended for - you'll find it a most amazing tool for your shooting needs.

Good series.#2 is fabulous! Maybe clone out those cups at the bottom.but the fellow is brilliant.
Shooting into the sun will most always give you harsh light..

Number 2 is the best out of these. But in no way does that the mean the rest are no good. The edit on the clouds shot is much better than the original.
