very strong and powerful stance coming from her....but something about her facial expression takes away from that. besides that, a really great shot.

I like the image, i like the pose, but as mentioned by the above the facial expression takes away from the image. I wish she was looking more towards me(camera) instead of upwards

Are we looking at the same picture?

The picture is also not very flattering (belly), but I still think you made the best out of it without using liquidify....

Thanks...She wears braces so, facial expressions were limited. And I'm not sure what planet you are from (arnie12) but she is a real woman...Not a rack on which to hang clothes. Personally, I think she looks fantastic in this dress.

Yeah, but a little smile would go a long way. You can also smile without flashing your teeth (braces) ;).

I don't understand your remark about "real women". She's curvy, but it doesn't mean you should not find poses and light that flatter her.

Arnie...I don't see anything unflattering about this pose...It's all a matter of opinion. She is more than happy with the results and in the end, that's what matters...The smile thing is another thing entirely and she was uncomfortable showing even the littlest smile.

Standing square adds bulk. Ordinarily you want to avoid it. This is a very aggressive pose and it works to a degree but I think there are angled poses that would be more flattering.

Understand it's an agressive pose...That's what I was going for...

an excellent shot, good lighting and what not.

it looks like you took the picture looking up towards her, which is usually good as it adds a sense of power and awe to the subject which would go along with your intentions of an aggressive pose, but in this case because of the combination her standing head on to the camera and the angle of which the picture was composed definitely appear bottom heavy.

I dont think people on here are saying that she is fat (because she is not), I think the main reason for taking photos with an angle and such is to get the model looking maybe a little more slim than she is...I think the reason for this is not for others, but for the model. I find that most of the time when I take photos of women, they are very hard on themself and ALWAYS think they look fat (even if they are a rail). I will slim them up just a hair in post (even if it is just the slightest), just to make them like the photo more.
Now, this woman may be in the upper 1% that is very happy with the way she looks (as she should be), so in that case, everything would be great :-)

Thanks folks...When I directed her to pose I told her to think of a pose akin to Charlie's Angels, Strong and very sexy...I think I got what I was looking for and she did too. There are a bunch of other shots that are posed with her at more of an angle to the camera and such, don't have that look that I was going for and I wanted to shoe the light through her dress as well....

The upward gaze doesn't jibe well with her pose.
