Yeah I thought I had used a faster shutter speed but on checking noticed I had not.

Would I be right or wrong in saying that it is not adequate to freeze water drops by merely boosting light via predominately iso? I mean you need flash for good results right?

Yeah memory junction, I had a tripod.

Loukango, that's the same water drop video I saw and linked in my earlier post.

I think my trouble was:

1. 1/160 shutter
2. Poor light
3. Poor focus & very narrow dof
4. Perhaps wrong lens for the job (50mm 1.8 II) - although I suppose I could have got as close as the 50mm would have allowed me and then cropped to make a nicer image
5. Poor light...I only had a desktop lamp. I didn't use flashes.

First of all, I am no expert, but I think if you have one of those kit lens, you can use it as it allow you to shoot closer to the subject than the 50mm 1.8. Also, you might want to try MF or live-view focus(I haven't tried it yet) for better focus. I think the deskto lamp is good, you just need more than 1 of them :)

Have fun.

Congratts! and welcome to the 60D club. Let it charge to you get three flashes, then you'll be good to go, all day.

Haha yes. The odd thing with me is I work nights, so the days tend to blur fast. Sleeping twice a day helps time go quickly ;p

Yeah, I know what you mean. I used to work nights too, it tends to make the time go by quicker, but for everything else working nights sucks!
