2002 RSX: New Rig Shots

Here's two shots I took the other weekend to get some more practice with the rig. Still need some improvement (and a wider lens), but these will do for now!

Good job! Clean rig shots and they look to have a good amount of motion!

You've already mentioned you need a wider lens, but other then that... these are really CLEAN. Nice and sharp! I guess this depends on your style, but I would try to go with a lower shutter speed on pic #2 to get better motion on the wheels. Actually, you went with a fairly "fast" shutter speed for both pics, hence the background isn't as blurred as most rig shots.... but I don't know... kinda dig it!

yeah, im saving up for something like a tokina 11-16, but it may be a while, unfortunately.

i shot around midday, so 1.6-1 sec was the slowest i could really go, even with a stacked 3 stop ND filter and CPL. ill just have to shoot closer to dusk next time. i agree though, i kind of like the "implied" movement on #2...it's different.

What post did you do on the bg? Can't wait to see what these look like with the wider lens.

thanks very much! people on other forums are up in arms because it's a boring "stock" rsx, haha. as far as i see it, it'll be worth more than their modded cars when i try to sell it in a year or two!

Well, effem'! just because the car may be boring doesn't mean that the images of it have to be, right?
Good shots, but I'd prefer a less interesting background.

yeah, i'm scouting better locations now. i wanted to get some more practice with the rig, so i just chose a nearby location that was nice and empty. definitely need to explore a bit and find some more scenic places to reshoot.

An UWA would be great but I like your images without the large field of view. The way the car comes out looks like it's taken out of a car brochure.

Great shots but I just have to mention something...

You need to invest in dropping this truck. The low angle only exaggerates that wheel gap!
