Picked one up tonight from a forum member; really pleased so far. Looking forward to taking some pics in better light tomorrow. Will post some examples then :)

Pleased with my lens set up currently; only thing I may change is an IS 70-200 F4 at some point but no rush as happy with non IS really.

Photography is about GEAR and not talent or practice. Practice won't make you a better photographer. Expensive equipment will. =D

The Sigma is a good lens, but I find that it over exposes highlights just a little. It's my only lens that I shoot at -1/3 EV.

I was thinking the same thing.

He's made me realize how bad the lens I love so much is. I must be blind when I look at all those pictures I've taken and think they're good

Like others have said, the whole Sigma issues are blown out of proportion. It certainly doesn't help when you buy the lens with a preconceived notion of it being bad out of the box - it makes you look for issues that may or may not even exist! How do I know? Because I've owned the Sigma 30, 50 (2x), and 85 and they have all been perfect out of the box. Like yourself, I've had worse luck w/Canon lenses than with Sigmas as well. It could happen to any lens. :)
