And $40 shipping. They do that to make people think they are getting a better deal. They all cost the same amount out of pocket.

yeah personally i believe that is crap... simply buy it if it is the cheapest even if with shipping still cheapest.. then give them negative feedback and explain exploded shipping charges.... ;)

Actually, people do it to avoid the eBay fees.. about 9% final value fee to eBay if I recall correctly.. so 9% on $2 is $0.18.. versus 9% on $42, which is $3.78.. a difference of $3.60.. doesnt sound like a lot, but the savings in fees is probably more than many sellers make in profit on eBay sales. Hell, people in the B&S forum here will use Paypal gift just to save 3% or whatever.

Not saying its right or whatever, but from a consumer standpoint, it doesnt make a difference.. its not like the total cost (item cost + shipping) isnt plainly visible.

I didn't know that, thanks for point that out. I was also pissed when I saw that shipping exceeds the value of the product: I was wondering; is this guy coming in person to deliver?!:)

gotcha.. didnt think about that.. however... that is where people like myself and everyone i work with... WILL NOT BUY FROM THEM then...

now that makes it even more profitable for them... i will do it if their item is extremely cheaper.... even with the inflated shipping and all..

but i didnt realize that..

im getting tired of selling on ebay... due to ebay and paypal i end up loosing alot of money from selling stuff.. granted i still make money...

funny thing... years ago before paypal... i was trying to think of a way to take payments from people with credit card... hence paypal.... i was just a few weeks too late... told wife about it.. she said look into it... so i did but was working alot.. when i finally figured it all out.. i looked and boom paypal was born... GRRRRRRRRRR

got it in today...

well interesting... remember im not looking to do this professionally and was only looking for a way to do pics with me in them.. so remote wireless shutter...

I will post pics later...

but for now..

In box
box 1
2 units with batteries installed
1 cable with straight ends on each side

box 2
1 cable with straight on one side and 90 degree end on other

Thoughts...
Opening box it looks nice.. units are what they are... plastic... but the switch seems nice to turn them on....
turned one on and lights lit up...
turned second one on.. and right light flickered rapidly.... - turns out dead batteries in the unit.... hence why they should ship batteries out of unit....

yn-468 flash locks into it nicely... unit locks into yn's flash stand nicely....
yn-468 flash locks into it nicely... unit does not lock into camera hotshoe... very wobbly... I could not expect to carry my camera around with this unit attaced and not expect to drop my flash... now since im only looking to put my camera down somewhere and use for remote shutter.... it will work for me...

now the oober newber part....
I couldnt get it to work.. im in the middle of having to get my teams soccer emails out... first game this sunday so only took it out and spent 10 minutes....
so put flash into unit.. unit into camera hotshoe.... put wire from unit to my camera
powered flash on.. camera on.. both 603's.... hit button on second one in my hand and no flash....

so can someone give me a quick sum of what i would need to do?
i took pics manually by using the camera shutter button and flash didnt go off...

now when i used the wireless transmitter.... both it and the receiver flashed a red light... so seems to be getting the wireless signal... can i leave the flash in ttl? i tried off camera too with S1 and S2 and still nothing...
ill get picks up soon....

only issues I had..
1. 1 unit had bad

working on my house so to stop and tinker with camera stuff is getting hard to do..
anyway I was able to do off camera flash if i hooked up the wire that goes from 603 to camera... but only if I popped up the on camera flash...
not sure why.... today will be installing hardwood floor in master bedroom.. maybe before bed I will get to tinker... we will see...
