Just picked up one on FM. Couldn't resist the deal (285 shipped).

Those who have this and the 70-200 f/2.8 II, do you find it a bit of an overlap/redundant, or do they both serve different purposes well?

A couple pictures of my kids with this awesome lens :) Sometimes i wonder if i need 85L

for the money this lens is a great deal, but 85L is far beyond this lens (to me).

huy, how's AF speed on this one comparing to 85L?
I keep reading the 85L has slow AF speed.

question to the owners/users of the 85mm f/1.8: does the CA disappear or at least lessen at f/2 compared to at f/1.8?

I was worry about CA before I bought the lens, but I almost never think about it now.
But to answer your question, at f2 and up, I noticed less CA. If it's really bad, just fix it with Lightroom or Photoshop. :)

It´s less noticeable around F2.8. but in bad conditions will be there too

This is the worst I've encountered, straight from camera:

Taken at f2.2.

Mostly it shows up in reflections. But it's still a lovely lens.
