Check the Lowepro Exchange Messenger bag, it's around 30 bucks with shipping, or around 20-25bucks locally if you can find it. Very cheap, but a very nice quality bag. It's pretty small, but easily holds a gripped body with a lens attached onto and another lens + an external flash + spare batterys etc.

There is a review thread that is like 10+ pages about it.

My "cheap" pro-setup;
Canon EOS 450D | Canon 50mm f1.8 II | Canon EF 70-200L f2.8 IS USM | YN-468 v2
8GB SDHC Class10 | BG-E5 + 4xLP-E5 | RC-4 | Canon E1 | Lowepro Exchange Messenger bag

I have both the lowepro exchange and the timbuk2 snoop messenger. I prefer the lowepro because of its small size. I only use the timbuk2 to transport all my gear and laptop, but for shooting I prefer to use my lowepro. The timbuk2 is really big. People kept bumping into my bag when I was walking around indoor places, like restaurants.
