I can only comment on my dealings with him - Kah Kit was very generous with his time, he provided his time to give a pro bono lecture to over 160 students at the University of Melbourne - that makes him alright in my book!

I should clarify, I was referring to Daniel Boud :p

Interesting, I feel the event photographs on website aren't that great, the flash use in particular is quite mediocre. But his business skills and ability to get these gigs are astounding and quite impressive - would be a great workshop to attend (more so for the business side rather than the photo technique side)

Anyone who gets paid to do an event others have to volunteer for gets my respect haha, though I can understand how frustrating it must be for other photographers no doubt some with more photographic ability or better techniques

Still, a very accomplished photographer!

@Ash - yeah I probably should have processed the strobe shot in my usual way for a better comparison. Your little one's looking bigger already. One tip I use for photographing subjects while lying down is to imagine them as standing up if that makes sense ie. get the lighting to fall at the same angle.

@Andrew - nice rollout and onya for getting up there... though looks like a Nikon on the projector

@Ewan - sweet shot... first thing that comes to mind is how the hell did you get up there!

haha@Wardie - I hope you didn't tear your dress too :-P That is one ugly looking predator though

So I decided to keep the 1D3 to pair up with the 1D4 so I sold my 7D and 10-22 to a keen young photographer - bagged himself two pristine perfectly calibrated copies. Will miss the suckers for sure and wish they'd packed some of the tech from the 7D into the 1D4.

Oh well, here's some 1D3 tax to tell myself I kept the right camera.

Hey Rob, and welcome. I'll let someone else answer your query about web stuff, I'm not really up to speed with that stuff these days.

My personal view is that it is a bit dark, feels more like an album or DVD cover...looks a little on the scary side with the darkness.

No Problems! cheers for your point of view.

Note; I should have pointed out in the post that this is a personal edited shot that was not given to the client. this is me playing around with some different post processing.

Well if it's not going to the client/on your website, then it's a good effect...just I don't think it suits a wedding :)

Wow finally back.... internet was speed limited to what seemed like dialup speeds. Next time i wont download 50GB of anime in the middle of the month and leave it seeding, FML.

Nice Tax all. Sorry Chris im not a fan of the processing either, at least not for a wedding shot. Unless youre going for the "i killed my husband and now im smiling at his funeral" sort of look. . ;)

Guys, if I had not put I took The shoot at wedding and just a portrait shot you would think different? No! I have achieve what I set out with in the post processing which was to turn a wedding shot into dark art. Sweet thanks guys! As I have said, this is just for me!
