I am mainly Nikon full frame user (D700) that has been mainly staying in 70-200 range but once in a while I do have a need for tighter crops with longer reach. For those times I would switch to my D300 but I still often desire tighter/farther.
Logically I started thinking about 300mm F4 on D300 but not being a fanboi (to me camera is a tool, I don't care about the brand) I realized I might skin that cat differently, by going with Canon 7D and EF 300mm f/4L IS USM which would give additional benefit of extra MPs for cropping _and_ IS.
So question I have to ask myself is how good that combo would be. That is where I would need your help, please. Please show me best you got with this combo _when shooting wide open_, full size SOOC shots strongly preferred so I can compare apples to apples. I mainly shoot people and animals so those subjects would be preferred.
Thank you in advance!
