Im a little bummed about my 220v/Genesis situation

I was set on getting a Genesis 200 kit, but after an email to Calumet they said I would void the warranty if I used a power converter, and it would likely damage the electronics.

So now my search is on for a decent set of strobes that can handle 220v.

Any recomendations for me?

I don't have any experience with them, but the Paul Bluff Einstein's claim to handle up to 260VAC.

Genesis stuff isn't multi-voltage? That's archaic...Most everything can accept 110-220v these days. Hmmm...i take that back, it seems that quite a few monolight setups are 110v only...

you can use Alien Bee lights with a transformer, they recommend transformers for them on their website and have no issue with you using them

Just spoke with a Rep, and they recommended me uy from their UK web site. I had a look but, the price for Genesis 200 kit is $559 without shipping.

Thats $150 more than the 110v/ USA version. Then add in shipping.

Hey thanks for the links! Im definetly exploring my options.

I just cant believe a power stabilizer would damage a monolight. My kids Play Station 3 works just fine downgrading the voltages through it.
