There are a pair of Eastern Screech Owls within 200 yards of each other in tree cavities here within a National park close to home here, they are a pair and should be on eggs shortly as courtship bonding has been witnessed of these 2 owls One is a Red Morph the other is a Grey morph. So that should be fun when that happens...

The Eastern Screech Owl is the smallest Owl that lives here in Ohio there common but can be difficult to locate, There was 4 of us who enjoyed photographing this Owl this past weekend.

Thanks goes out to Noah for spotting them and Jim for passing it on to myself...

I Focused on the Red Morph this day, but am looking forward to getting back for they Grey Morph as well...

those are really very nice Daniel, each one is very well done. The look in #3 is pretty funny, can't wait to see more of the gray and the little ones, you just might have a tremendous opportunity here, Good LUck!

Great catch and wonderful images, Dan. I've never seen a red morph before so thanks for sharing these.

That last shot is how I mostly see my "local" screech owl...but wtih the eyes completely closed. Terrific series!

Hey there, Dan!---glad I could help! I've been unable to get an eyes-open shot. Did you play a recording of the call, or was it just good timing?
