Anyone every use a Sunpak 544 Thyristor?

Do you know if there is an AC power adapter for it?

I got this thing from a garage sale. It works GREAT!

I just want faster recycle times and less battery costs.

You will likely get "less battery cost". But, you will NOT get faster recycling times (over common alkaline or NiMH cells) with the cited adapter.

Enjoy! Lon

Really?

Wow, I would have thought plugging it in would help with that.

www.lumedyne.com (external link) sold an AC adaptor (using lumedyne/turbo power cords) to power up many strobes. For many years have used these units w/my Sunpack 555 strobes on stands in corners of reception sites for background illumination. recycle time is immediate.

keep in focus...

Are those cords still available? I looked around on that site and couldn't find anything.

Could you link me to it?

Thanks
Zach

I think you will get the faster recycle with batteries. I suggest, get NiMh and recharge them.
