I thought i should sing my praises for the wonderful service i received form Gentec Intl./ Sigma Service Canada.
I just recently acquired a used copy of the 70-200 HSM II APO Macro 2.8, after some further testing , i found the lens to be back focusing, it was not a main concern @ purchase since the price was right & i confirmed the 8.5 years left on the siggy 10 warranty was good to go with the lens , this in mind i sent it to Gentec Canada.
The lens was shipped out overnight /insured on Wed. March 9 with a plea for a fast turnaround, i promptly received a call back yesterday morning ( Thurs. March 10) from the service dept. advising me that the lens had some internal optic fault & that they were going to replace it with a spanking new one that should arrive at my door today, to say i as shocked after reading several horror stories here & else where would be a slight understatement, i felt like i won the lottery .
I`m pleased to tell you that the lens arrived this morning as promised nice & minty, and from all appearances so far seems to be working very well, i would like to thank the fine folks @ Gentec Intl. for the promt & exceptional service provided, needless to say they have won my confidence in this day & age when it`s rare to find this level of aftermarket service much less hear of it.
