Thanks for the photo. It looks like a great alternative to having both a neck and hand strap connected to the body. The only problem I can for see is the metal thing at the end of the luma loop. I'm afraid it might scratch up the LCD screen...

yeah definitely a great alternative to neck & hand strap. My thinking was when not needed to just easily take it off and connect it back to the strap :)

got one of these myself. great handstrap. I used to go with no strap, but it's definitely one of my better purchases I made. 5d2 + grip.

recommended.

I had previously purchased a Camdapter strap to use with my 350D + Grip, but found it to be too wide and too long for my hand to be useful with that camera and subsequently returned it. I now have an ungripped 5DMkII and was considering picking up the Herringbone Classic version w/plate, as it appears to be a little smaller than the Heritage version but I haven't seen much about the Classic in this thread.

Does anyone have a Classic attached to a 5D/5DMkII or even a XXD series camera (the eBay listings only seem to show it attached to a 350D or Nikon D70) and I'd like to see what it would look like on the camera before ordering if possible. Thanks

I just picked up my Herringbone Heritage in Black to put on my 7D. It's a very nice strap and the last one in a series of handstraps I've looked at (Canon E1, generic one off E-Bay, Cotton). Pretty straightforward installation, even without directions. I didn't know what the tiny button strap was for so I just snapped it into place according the pictures on the web (between the buckle and bottom metal loop).

I've found that the pad will slip down on the attachment strap since there is nothing to hold it in place. After pulling my camera out of the bag, I've found myself having to slide the pad up a little (towards the top of the camera) before putting my hand in so that the pad would better centered. A bit of a pain. So I moved the button strap to below the bottom metal loop to function as a stop to prevent the pad from sliding down. Much better now.

My 10D with both neck strap and old Herritage (black) hand strap that I've had for 3 years or so. The bottom part of the strap near the base plate is a little worn from use. Hardly used the 10D with both straps, but put the strap on when I was shooting with both cameras. I leave the little metal tab (for the neck strap) on just in case.

Here is my 7D with the Chocolate Seduction Limited Edition hand strap (and neck strap not shown in the picture) that was given to me for free by Canon Korea when I bought the 7D. I had already bought another Herringbone black hand strap when I first ordered accessories for my new 7D and was surprised when Canon Korea gave me the brown one. :)
The brown is quite dark so it does not stand out that much.

What plate are you guys using with this strap? I have a T1i and I've been using the plate the hand strap came with but it becomes loose every time I screw on a tripod.

Personally I use the plate it came with, only because I'm still looking to buy one thats better (has some grip on top to prevent it from sliding around). If you look on eBay they (Koreans) sell acra type plates which has grip on top and has the loop for the strap. :)

I think something like this would be better than the one supplied with the strap - http://cgi.ebay.com …m4151521810#ht_4046wt_912 (external link)

Just wondering, how exactly does neck strap attack to the hand strap? Anyone have better pictures of this? I'm curious to know, my g/f got me a custom neck strap that I like to use and would like to leave on in addition to the comfort of using this strap.

Really looking into this strap, sometimes I just hold my 5D instead of shouldering the strap

Is there anywhere to buy this in the US? The ebay listing states I won't get it for about three weeks.
