You can buy an extended warranty through squaretrade or adorama via mack warranties... :)

thats an option as well, but I think I read someone on these forums bought a 3 year and it was $125.00 ish give or take a few bucks

But refurb means it could be a display set / a faulty set that has been repaired. But what if it's already heavily used and shutter count is like 100K+ ?

the track record on these forums are the refurbs are in the 1-75 shutter count. the last one someone reported was 48 I believe, plus I have to think Canon goes over the refurbs with a fine tooth comb.

If you live a no tax state, it's a no brainer. Eventhought I have to pay tax I jumped on it anyway to get a 5Dmk2. Still cheaper than most used one on B&S.

^exactly what i did. tried stacking mr. rebates on top of it too to make it even sweeter, but who knows (since they don't allow you to stack coupons that aren't offered on their site).

For the cameras, that's great. At least for the 5D Mark II and 7D, they did not raise prices. This makes it a great deal for a 5D Mark II and even the PowerShot cameras such as the S90 and S95.

However, for the lens, they are tricking you. At least for the lens I have been tracking, they raised their prices.

For example, a week ago a Canon EF 24-105 f/4L IS USM went for for $827.28 + Tax + Shipping.

Today, it is $919.20, so with the 10% off, it is $827.28 + Tax + Shipping, defeating the purpose.

A week ago, the Canon EF-S 60 Macro went for $338.39 + Tax + Shipping.

Today, it is $379.99, and with the 10% off, it is $341.99 + Tax + Shipping. It ends up being more expensive today with the coupon code than it was last week without.
