My 5D mkII (Refurb) From Canon - My Thoughts...

Refurb and second hand are the only way's I buy.

I have read that shutter count and accuations are reset if for some reason the shutter button has been replaces... Is that correct? Sounds like a great deal.

I'll buy refurbs from apple and canon seems like a safe bet. Not sure I'd go the refurb route with the direct retailers, but maybe...

Ordered mine with the 10% off last night. Excited to get back to full frame.

I ordered Saturday and took advantage of the 10% off as well. I keep checking my order status to see it change form "pending shipment" to "shipped".

Congratz! Never had any issues with my 5DII when I had it!

I ordered my refurb last Wednesday....and the Canon 10% off coupon was emailed 2 days later

I'm sure it was coincidence but I could have saved $200 LoL

Upgrading from a 40D was a huge difference in image quality but the menu layouts are similar so the learning curve was basically non existent.

Now learning video, well that is different story LoL....

I think tonight at midnight was the cutoff. I thought it was a great deal and it seam like most people say it's in like new condition.

I will post about the condition I receive mine in.

I bought a refurb 7D through the CLP. Mine came with 7300 actuations and the top LCD screen had a scuff mark on it. After struggling with the decision, a 1 month old 7D came up in the Classified section on the forum for $1300 and I decided to buy it from a forum member. When I called to return my 7D to Canon the tech said that he would do the same thing and not keep a 7300 count camera. For me, buying 1 month old with a receipt, 300 actuations, 11 months of warranty and an additional battery was worth the ~$140.

If my 7D had less than 1000 clicks on it though, I would probably have kept it. But this just goes to show that not ever refurb camera from Canon has little to no use. Now whether you put any weight into shutter actuations is another story, just thought I would share my experience.

Received my refurbished 5D MKii from Canon this morning and finally getting around to post my experience as well. Couldn't even think to tell it from new, 93 clicks on the shutter and completely spotless. I'm a happy camper.

Congrats, exactly my experiences with both I had as well.

Expecting my refurbished 5d2 tomorrow as well. I hope I have the same experience as you did.
