The Feet are a bit OOF from camera and I added a tiny bit in photoshop. BUT nothing was cloned or anything of that nature in that area =]

The very reddish/warm white balance (too warm) is a negative for me in this image along with her legs being out of focus. And I don't see the need to emphasize her age. It'll only draw attention.

not something i generally do here, comment on photographs, because i'm a new photographer who is just learning himself. however, as person who has enjoyed the arts for many years, i do know a thing or two about what is beautiful. with that in mind, i sense there is more wrong with this photograph than right. as others have already pointed out, the sandaled feet being out of focus is a problem for some. i agree with that, but my problems don't stop at her feet. i also don't like the unnatural pose, particularly the hand very stiffly stroking her own hair. also, you have her all lively and tropicalled up, flowers in her hair, in an otherwise wintery/dead spring's just around the corner setting. that kind of juxtaposition, while artistically interesting for some, is off-putting to me. in other words, her outfit does not match the background.

While maybe not intentional the look of the girl could reflect how different these pagent winners are from the average person, they simply stand out.

I'm not really a fan of the DOF being so shallow that it looks like tilt-shift, but other than that it's a great pic! You've got some fantastic stuff on your Flickr!

From my experience, I come from a family of photographers and artist. When I first started, everything was very technical. I saw every little wrong thing in a photo. Down to a little stick that dont belong in the photo. As I grew as a photographer, I relearned the meaning of Photography. It is not about the rules and it is not about technical things. I learned to step back and look at the photo as a whole... How it made you feel. How it touches your heart and art in mind.

Now step back from your computer... take a deep breath and look at the photo again and BE a part of the atmosphere and scene. ^_-

As for the emphasizing of her age.. We all know a leg humper or 2 =P
