$168 for optical-quality air. What a racket!

Hey, its better than what Canon is asking for their air.:)

With those extension tubes would I be able to use them on a 100L macro to get even closer? Also on the 135 how well does it compare to a 100mm macro lens?

Very tempted to pick up a 135 and sell my 70-200 2.8 for a 100-400 or 70-300.

Yes, you could use them on your 100L to get closer and this is what I usually use them for. Here is a cool site, with some amazing pics, that talks a lot about this if you dig through his old posts (of course its the non L though). I think he calls it his "bazooka".
http://nocroppingzone.blogspot.com/ (external link)

If I want macro I just use my macro lens and don't really bother with extension tubes and a non macro lens.

They do work on the 135L, however I prefer the 100L for macro. The-Digital-Picture says this, "With a close focusing distance of 3' (.9m), the 135 L has a not-bad-for-a-fixed-focal-length-lens magnification capability of .19x. This lens will not be confused with a macro lens, but will not have problems with most uses it is suited for. Adding a 12mm Extension Tube increases the maximum magnification to .29x and the addition of a 25mm Extension Tube yields a .41x magnification."

Of course the kenko set has 12mm, 20mm, and 35mm tubes (no 25mm tube) so max mag numbers would be slightly different. The reason I don't like to use them on my 135L is because you lose infinity focus and the lens becomes much less useful without the equivalent of a "lens change". Kind of annoying sometimes. Add in the fact that it is not true 1:1 macro and these are the reasons why I just use the 100L over the 135L+tubes. Different tools for different jobs.

i see that you have a gap between 24mm and 50mm. Do you find yourself wanting something in between? Maybe like a 35mm?

Yup really nice adds. Mine is that sharp wide open too. I don't know how many times I've said it but this is the easiest lens I've ever used. It's extremely hard to screw up a shot taken with this lens and is my go to in most situations.

Hej m.shalaby, how do you feel this lens measures up to the 85 1.2? I'm thinking of getting one for my 5D...

I mainly want to use it for portraits, some sports, candids and general short DOF kind of stuff, is it comparable to "the keg" in these areas?
