They both seem rather soft. Were you shooting close to wide open? My old nifty was pretty much useless at anything larger than f2.8 or so.

The lighting looks a bit flat, perhaps bump the blacks and contrast a bit.

cheers

I would have loved to have seen the second one with the use of a reflector on his left

I agree with the above comments , did you shoot auto aperture or on Manual ?

I hope you don't mind I had a go at one of your photos and came up with this.

Cheers

Thanks Mate, I would try shooting in Manual as the meter can be fooled too often , as for your photo I used the unsharp filter to get rid of the fog on the photo then i used Artistic Tools from Kubota it was the Enter the Dragon Action at around 50 %. then I sharpen a bit with the smart sharpen.

If you have any questions please feel free to ask.

Cheers

Looking at the settings ( F/1.8 @ 1/320) you had plenty of light to play with. I'd schedule another shoot rather than submit these to the agency.

Get him to hold a reflector of some sort so his eyes aren't in shadow.

you have plenty to work with on first one but reshoot is probably easier then editing all those pics
