For some reason the 1D body makes that lens look GOOD.

I think the title is very befitting. Especially with the Inception dvd in the back. ;)

These pictures never cease to amaze me with how amazing they look. Anyone know why Canon chooses to use a 50mm 1.4 in most of their product photos?

Simple lens with a reasonably large front element that doesn't overpower the focus of the ad which is the body.

Totally. They just need to grow into full grown 24-105L's and I'll be a happy father. But no, the middle is my sisters XSi and thats her lens she bought, the 2 50D's are mine but ones an RMA. So i'll sadly have to give one up. I need to get to selling that 28-135 to fund some L glass.

The lens creep is what bothers me the most. Otherwise a great lens

Heh! A lot of people have been popping up in the 5D Classic thread excited about how much fun they are having with their nifty 50 and their new full frame body -- it puts a smile on your face:)!

Guilty...

Every real pro knows that you can't have "fun" with a camera until you've spent thousands on the "better" lens. They're just too stupid, obviously :)

There is some truth to this although I'm not that far into it financially. I upgraded from the 50 1.8 to the 1.4 late last year, and I still find myself wanting a 1.8 also for whatever reason. I think i just have an obsession with shooting wide open
