Saw on Slick Deals that the Ipad 1 is selling at Verizon Wireless Stores for $299 (16gb), $399 (32gb), $499 (64gb). This is the wifi version only.

According to my local store (philly burbs) that price requies the purchase (and 2 yr contract) of a my-fi.
This makes sense since $299 is well below cost.

I picked up two 16gb in Chandler yesterday. I was not a Verizon customer nor did they ask me to purchase mifi. They did ask once if I needed any cases or chargers. It was no pressure and painless.

Wow, you can't beat that. You could probably sell them on eBay and still make money after fees.

Verizon is now out of stock nationwide of the 16gb. They have 15999 of the 32gb. They had 16000 before I got there....
I reallly hate this forum.

Called around 40 miles worth of stores and the 16gb was all out of stock. One of the stores called me back and said the one they had on reserve flaked out so I got my hands on the last one in the Chicago area woohoo!

Looks like most stores still have 32gb and 64gb in stock. Just picked up a 32gb. Really kind of surprised that Verizon was undercutting everyone else by $100 on their closeouts. Apple is usually pretty strict on their pricing.

IPad's don't require contracts for 3G - plus these are WiFi....
