Fun session I did yesterday. We had scheduled an hour, but they were quite late and could not stay for an hour due to a reservation...

Really nice work Ryan. The one little thing that I did notice was her right hand in the first picture looks odd. I think it is just because it looks like her fingers are slightly bent upwards and makes the rest of her hand look swollen. I always enjoy your work and love to learn from it.

I just got my first pair of glasses that I didn't think I needed. I apologize to anybody in the past year that I said their pictures were out of focus lol.

were these taken with a 5d and the 50 or 85?

and also, natural light?

I love the second one! Perfect composition! Did you just use natural light?

Thank you! 5D Classic with 50 1.4. These were natural light. I did not have time to set some beautiful dramatic lighting. I roughly have 15-20 minutes with them.

these are really nice! Stray hair in the second one sticks out a bit, but I'm sure they are pleased with these!

Minor niggle on the first one is the candle emerging from her head, but as you say these are fun shots rather than posed deliberately

I really like the lighting and posing in these. That being said I think you overdid the skin softening on the second one...but maybe that is the look you were going for.

Nice work. As mentioned, lighting and posing is very good. I agree that maybe the skin smoothing is a bit too much. You might also want to check the second one a for a bit of white deodorant showing (a minor nitpick... I'm surprised I'd noticed it, but once I did, I couldn't "un-notice" it. :-)

Somewhat posed deliberately. Had 15 minutes to do their session. Had an hour scheduled, but they were late and had reservations so could not push time back...

1250 ISO, f2.5 - f4.5, Shutter Speeds 1/60 - 1/125.
Dodge and burn. Lighting had a ethereal glow about it and I accentuated with blurs and such. High pass sharpening.

Steve, thanks! The deodorant was much worse! These are proofs. I have a few things that need to be fixed.

Great shots! I noticed the deodorant right away in the second pic though.
