Thanks for all those nice comments. I am glad that you like the picture.

I think the bird was jealous of the nice red line on my 135L. I must have looked like a very weard bird with the lens sticking out of my face.

great capture, 135l pretty close to the eagle, is that wedged-tailed eagle ?? what state was this in ??? sorry about all this questions but am in sydney and looking for a good place to photograph birds of prey.

I wish I had taken this picture of a wild Eagle, but that is surely close to impossible with a 135L. There is an eagle program in Germany that take care of birds that have been hurted through trafic. Alot of the eagles here are waiting in the threes next to the road... waiting for a bird/animal to get smashed by a car. Then they eat. Sadly enough, lots of them ends up as the next meal or the lucky one, taken care of by the eagle project.

I have seen lots of them at the roadside, so I guess that in other urbanized parts of the world, the birds are just as lazy (pragmatic) as those in central Europe. I have never managed to get close enough to them with my 135L though... need a 500mm to do that. But to keep the eyes open on the threes next to big roads is not a bad idea. Well... if you only look for birds when driving, you could also end up as the next meal.
