Just got mine a week ago. Easily the sharpest compact I have ever used.

Thanks!

I really like two40's sunset picture, so I was waiting for something decent to put after it.

The S90 is a GREAT "walk around the city" camera...

Do you guys find yourselves shooting in the manual settings a lot on this P&S? Because i have the S90 but everytime i try and shoot at av, tv, or even M it doesn't come out as good at the automatic green box and the automatic low lighting setting.

I heard most people don't even shoot on M with this camera because the no AF points so is it better to shoot on AV TV or P over the auto settings?

Not sure what AF points has to do with Manual exposure, but anyways....

I primarily shoot in Av, just like I do with my DSLRs. You do need to keep an eye on the exposure compensation (as you would with a DSLR), as well as the ISO (to make sure your shutter speed doesn't get too slow if you're indoors)

Thanks! I need to figure out a way to "transport" my DSLR stuff into the city because I am dying to try these shots out with my Sigma 10-20mm :D

But the S90's lens is REALLY REALLY sharp! (just not as wide as I'd like)

I honestly just use P mode and Auto ISO most often. I don't really have any DOF control (well compared to my DSLR) so I don't really care what aperture it picks. I just watch histogram and use EC or ISO as you mentioned.

I lurch and never really post.... This is actually my first photo post.

It was a quick snapshot I got in a nice series of shots one evening when I walked outside to take out the trash, and happened to see this sunset. I left the bag of garbage by my door and dashed out with my S90, since it happened to be sitting out on my coffee table and the 5D2 was elsewhere.

No claims at being anything other than an amateur, I had the settings on the Scene setting, set to sunset, and snapped away.

Incidentally, I finally thought to share a shot from this P&S after originally seeing the thread about the small aftermarket grip. I went ahead and ordered it after reading everyone else's rave reviews. I think I'll end up using my S90 now more because of it.

Nice, yeah, the little grip and ring solution is what kept me from selling it.
