Well after a few weeks with 40D and about 700 shots, changing lens combinations, I can not for the life of me see why there was so much belly aching about this camera when it came out. I love it, and now in combination with the 17-85 IS and 70-300 IS I feel I am really set and ready to enjoy.

It is much like when I purchased the 1D MK III... I just couldnt understand all the complaints. Yet I am not a pro so I dont push my cameras to the extremes so I have to reserve judgement for that.

But in this class of camera I think it is one of Canons best.

Well still have a 40D as a second camera to a 1DMKIV and am amazed at how alike the images are between the two. Had allways thought this pic was from the 1DMKIV until the other night when i was looking through some pics and noticed in the exif it was from the 40D.

The 40D is the only body I've used in the past 4 years. Here is one I took yesterday

Stopped off by a wildlife sanctuary for 10-15 minutes to go for a walk and have a coffee yesterday. We were not the only ones hungry though!

Thank you. I like the 15-85 alot. It is very similar in my hands to the 24-105L. The IS is better on the 15-85 though. Those shots above with the 15-85 have 0 sharpening, just levels adjustments and converted from raw to jpg in LR3.
