I have always liked the retro look when it comes to the old style leather camera bags ( I am pretty retro myself). I started working with leather a couple of years ago and after looking at the prices for some of the leather camera bags I thought I would try to make one for myself. It is by far the largest leather project I have ever attempted, but I am pretty pleased with how it turned out. It is all hand sewn, and I used 5-6 oz leather.

I thought I would share some photos of my project. The insides are two Tenba messenger bag inserts. It is a pretty big bag, and I only use it for special occasions. I have included a shot with my Canon 7D for size comparison. The front pocket is holding a Stroboframe flash bracket.

Ron

It is beautiful! Probably the best looking bag I have seen ever.
Buckling and unbuckling those buckles would make me crazy though. But it does look really nice.
I guess Velcro would ruin the look. :)

You do good work! I wouldn't mind the buckles because I don't like velcro.

Wow, that's really impressive. Out of interest, how many man-hours do you think you have in it?

That's some fabulous-looking leathercrafting, Ron!
Very well done, IMHO.

That's amazing! Good job!

It will get stolen 15 seconds after you look away so make sure to keep it close.

Yeah I would pay big money for a sweet handmade leather bag.

Time to start producing fulltime?
